Class 37 37 401 English Electric diesel locomotive Co-Co

Introduced in 1961 - 1965 and some are still in service today, there are about 47 locomotives preserved and running on heritage lines around the country at the moment.

308 of these locomotives were built to replace steam on British Railways, they were at home hauling heavy freight and passenger services around the country.

Class 47 47 804 Help for Heros Brush type 4 diesel locomotive Co-Co

Introduced in 1962 - 1968 and can still found working on the railways today, but there are also 34 that have been preserved, they can also be seen running on heritage lines around the country

512 of these locomotives were built, mainly for hauling express passengers trains

Class 52 D1065 Western Consort Diesel Hydraulic locomotive C-C

Introduced between 1961 - 1964 and all withdrawn from service by 1977, these locomotives carried two Maybach engines which produced a wonderful sound, they hauled top link services on the Western region.

74 locomotives were built for the Western region and all carried nameplates, 7 Westerns are now in preservation and can be seen running on heritage lines or in a few cases back on the main line
